Coco Peat

Crushed particles of coconut plant residues, known as coco peat, have been suggested as one of the suitable components of the growth medium for plants. This material has good electrical conductivity and pH for plant growth and has a high ability to absorb and retain water. The coco peats are transported in compact molds and when they reach their destination, water is added to them. Their molds are usually graded based on the type, percentage of fibers and the amount of volume increase after water absorption. Due to the special properties of cocopeat, which are described below, this material is widely used in hydroponic cultures. It is a suitable culture medium for seed germination, cuttings, cultivation of onions and seedlings and tissue culture.

Benefits of Coco peat:

  • High water holding capacity:

Coco peat molds have a high ability to absorb water and can absorb 7 to 10 liters of water, so they are a good substrate for plants that need a lot of irrigation and in addition are able to improve the quality of the plant, especially Store in dry weather until sale.

  • Suitable pH range:

Cocopeat has a neutral to slightly acidic pH and is therefore suitable for plant growth.

  • Increased soil porosity:

Cocopeats are highly porous even when water-saturated, so they help aerate the soil and prevent it from hardening.

  • Absence of weeds:

Because coconut fiber has grown above ground level, it does not contain weed seeds, bacteria or fungi.

  • Reduce the time required for germination and accelerate the growth of roots, flowers and fruits:

Coco peat properties, including its effect on increasing water access, accelerate plant growth

  • high durability:

Coco peat contains large amounts of lignin and is therefore physically resistant and decomposes slowly.

Turns. In addition, lignin leads to the development of beneficial microorganisms.

  • Environmentally friendly:

Cocopeat is a completely organic material, so it does not have an adverse effect on the environment.
